This came to me in an email.

Hi Don,

I have an M.C. Marsh mitre box #3 which was my grandfathers and left with many vintage tools in our family. He was a cabinet maker in Montreal. There is a local museum that specializes in older tools and I would like to pass on as much info about these many tools as possible.

Your 8 min. video on the Stanley #1 shows the same Marsh mitre box #3 on the top shelf in the upper right corner.

I would love to know the approximate date of manufacture of this Marsh #3 box that I have.

Here are a few photos.

Greatly appreciate any help and would love to add more info or photos on these tools if requested from you.

not sure if there is anything here to help

No photo description available.

In 1903 Marsh was advertising the "New" Marsh-Langdon miter box (pic attached). Combined with the above Ad, gives a production time of 1903 to 1917 or later
